Source: UGCAccording to Investigation Discovery (ID), 47-year-old Jane Kuria and her daughters Isabella, 19, and Annabel, 16, met their deaths at the hands of an unknown killer.

Lifeless bodies discovered by relatives During the incident, her son Jeremy, 7, and his cousin, 10-year-old Peter Thande, were seriously injured and found unconscious.

Details indicate that the three lifeless bodies were discovered by Jane’s sister-in-law, Pauline Thande, and niece, Diana Maina.

The pair decided to go to the family’s home after trying to contact the mother in vain, only to be met by a bloody scene.

“The first thing I saw was blood. There was blood on the floor and the walls,” Diana recalled.No break in case for 16 years Crime scene reports record that the deceased mother was found in the kitchen, Isabella near the entrance, while Annabel’s body was in her bedroom.

The two survivors Jeremy and Peter were found unconscious in bed and next to a couch in the living room respectively.

Sixteen years since that gruesome murder, investigators are yet to make headway in the case that has since gone cold.

What makes the crime complicated is the fact that the killer did not leave behind the murder weapon or usable DNA, and the survivors cannot recall the details.

Kuria sought asylum in USFor nearly two decades now, homicide investigators have been under pressure to unearth the killer(s) and motive behind the multiple murders.

Jane and her children had relocated from Kenya to the US in 2001 to not only recover from the pain of losing her husband but also to create a new life for her and the children.

Her travel documents also indicate that she sought asylum abroad to run away due to her vocal stand against female genital mutilation in Kenya.

She got jobs at a local hospital and nursing home as well as enrolled Isabella in college and Annabel in high school.

Survivors live in constant fear Although the asylum request was denied, Jane was in the process of appealing when the unknown killer struck.

Fox 5 reports that Jeremy and Peter may have survived the ordeal, but the emotional wounds continue lingering on years later.
