German-born Ghanaian youngster Kaden Amaniampong has signed a professional contract with Bundesliga 3 side FC Viktoria Köln.
The 18-year-old came from 1. FC Köln last summer and has been a key player in Marian Wilhelm’s team.
Amaniampong is a young and talented defender who has impressed the club with his skills and dedication to the team.
At Viktoria Köln, U19 captain Kaden Amaniampong will be part of the third division squad in the coming season.
Amaniampong made 11 of 15 Bundesliga games over the entire season and scored an important goal against 1. FC Köln and played a key role in the U19s’ success.
FC Viktoria Köln head coach Olaf Janben became aware of the talent and called up the defensive player three times in the third division squad.
“In Kaden we have a very talented defender who we will have a lot of fun with,” said Janben on Amaniampong.
“We are particularly proud to have another player from our own NLZ available from the pros. The great work in our NLZ is really something to be proud of. There is a lot of work behind it, training boys who then perform in the 3rd league. That is not a matter of course!,”
