Kaizer Chiefs have made their first signing of the 2023/24 season, the Siya crew can confirm.

While their 2022/23 season comes to an end this weekend with a home fixture against Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium, Chiefs have already cast an eye on the upcoming season.
As a result, Amakhosi have made their first signing ahead of the new campaign by tying down teenager Vicky Makhwana to a first team contract, as reported by the Siya crew last week.
‘Beast’, as Makhawana is known in football circles, is understood to have penned a three-year deal with the first team, following in the footsteps of Wandile Duba, Mduduzi Shabalala and Samkelo Zwane who have all been promoted from the club’s development structures.

He can play both as a striker where he got three goals for the national U-17 team in Algeria recently, or as a defensive midfielder where he has been plying his trade for Chiefs’ junior sides.
Makhwana is expected to play a dual role for the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side, and will form part of the first team if needs be.
