Inside the church adorned with colorful banners and flowers, a vibrant energy filled the air as Odero took to the podium.

Dressed in his signature white robes, the clergyman led the soul-stirring hymns in a soft but hoarse voice that is synonymous with his services.

“Ninaomba kwa unyenyekevu wale wako nje mtoke kwa mlango mtasaidiwa na polisi wetu na ushers muingie kwa utaratibu. Nitakatisha ibada kwa sababu siwezi kubali watu waumie,” he said.(I am requesting those who are still outside to exercise patience so that police officers and ushers can help you access the venue in an organised manner. He added that safety was a key concern for him because he respects the government and cares about people’s lives, forcing him to cancel the sermon.
