Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been handed an eight-month ban from all football-related activities due to multiple breaches of betting rules.
The Football Association charged Toney in November with 262 alleged breaches over a four-year period, and he has admitted to 232 of them.
In addition to the ban, Toney has been fined £50,000 ($62,000) and warned about his future conduct.
The 27-year-old England international will not be allowed to train with his teammates until September 17 and is banned until mid-January 2024.
Toney’s absence will be a significant loss for Brentford, as he has scored 21 goals in 35 appearances this season, helping the team rise to ninth place in the Premier League.
