May 29, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) leadership expressed their congratulations to Victor Osimhen, following the Napoli standout player being bestowed with a prestigious national accolade.
The skilled forward, who features as a centre-forward for the senior men’s national football team, was recently honoured with the National Award of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) by Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR. Osimhen’s name occupied the 23rd spot on the list of individuals receiving the MFR, which was unveiled on Sunday.
Promptly upon the announcement, NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau and General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, conveyed their felicitations to the accomplished player. Gusau expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, acknowledging the remarkable recognition accorded to the football industry. The NFF President further expressed pride in Osimhen’s accomplishments with Napoli SC in Italy and the Super Eagles. On his part, Dr Sanusi pointed to Osimhen’s upward trajectory in the sport, citing his record-breaking feat as the top scorer in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
