Kenya, Netherlands export deal to preserve environmentOrina, a career diplomat disclosed that over 100 Dutch companies were operating in Kenya, an indicator of the trust and confidence the European country has in Kenya’s political and economic system.
He disclosed that Kenya and The Netherlands were in the process of implementing Cool Logistics Corridor, a project that will see Kenyan fresh produce is transported to the European country by sea.
“Beyond the expansion of our exports. Through cool logistics we will transport the produce by sea as a way of reducing emissions and pollution in line with Kenya’s and The Netherlands resolve to preserve the environment and embrace clean energy,” Orina explained.Former president Uhuru Kenyatta had pledged to ensure Kenya fully transitions to clean energy as a resolution in the fight against climate change.
William Ruto to visit The Netherlands”To achieve this, Kenya is learning and implementing good practices from The Netherlands as it is one of the countries that has made significant advancements in adopting green energy including solar energy and wind power usage,” Orina added.The Netherlands Ambassador to Kenya Maarten Brouwer echoed Orina’s sentiments and said that for over five decades, the two countries bond has been growing stronger and assured more support in the fields of health, logistics, climate change mitigation, agriculture and energy.
Maarten fronted for inclusion in political, economic and sexuality spheres, citing exclusion as a threat to smooth ties.
Orina disclosed that President William Ruto was set to soon visit The Netherlands in a bid to enhance ties between the two countries.
