Aig-Imoukhuede’s Book Shortlisted For BCA Award

Most people may not be aware that when the former Group Managing Director and CEO of Access Bank, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, handed over to his then deputy, Herbert Wigwe, before leaving the bank, he kept busy running his other businesses and then he wrote a book entitled, ‘Leaving the Tarmac: Buying a Bank in Africa.’

The book has been shortlisted for the BCA Award in the African Business Book of the Year category, an annual writing contest aimed at spotlighting African business stories. This is achieved by bringing together the top-tier in African publishing and the business world to celebrate stories that are changing the business landscape and also celebrate the authors and publishers behind the books.

The winner of the competition will be announced at an award ceremony billed to hold at The Africa Centre, London, on May 19, 2023.

The winner, first runner-up, and second runner-up will receive a cash prize of $10,000, $5,000, and $2,500, respectively. The BCA Award, organised by The Business Council in Africa in partnership with Brand Communications and ‘African Business Magazine’, is divided into different categories, some of which include Business Strategy, Behavioural Science and Psychology, Industry specific books, Economics, Growth Markets, and Historical books on the above. The book which is marketed by Rovingheights Limited has sold about 10,000 copies in the last 12 months.
