Coventry City’s Tyler Walker Absent from Play-Off Semi-Final First Leg Matchday Squad

Coventry City’s back-up striker Tyler Walker was missing from the team’s matchday squad during the play-off semi-final first leg against Middlesbrough. The 26-year-old has been the third-choice striker in recent months. He was named on the bench in most games he was available, behind Viktor Gyokeres and Matty Godden. However, he was replaced by Sean Maguire who took his place among the substitutes.

The Coventry boss, Mark Robins, revealed that Walker picked up an injury during training that prevented him from participating in the match. However, he was tight-lipped about the nature of the injury and refused to reveal where the player was injured or what he had done. He disclosed that the scan results were inconclusive, which left them unable to identify the specific issue.

Robins stated that they were unsure of the severity of the injury and had to wait to see whether he would recover in time for Wednesday’s play-off second leg against Middlesbrough. At the Riverside Stadium, Coventry City will go all out for a win to reach the final at Wembley.

The 26-year-old’s absence from the play-off semi-final matchday squad is a significant blow to the Coventry City side. With limited options on the bench, Robins has very few alternatives to choose from for Wednesday’s game.

In other team news, midfielder Ben Sheaf, who recently returned from a calf tear, was in the matchday squad. However, the manager didn’t use him because he believed that the pace of the game was too quick and that the player wasn’t entirely fit.

Coventry City’s fans are hoping that Tyler Walker recovers in time for the game on Wednesday. The team remains optimistic about their chances of reaching the final and are confident that they can achieve success with or without their back-up striker.
