But that did not stop hordes of fans from breaking onto the pitch to celebrate their victory, with one catching the eye.
One supporter was picked up by Sky Sports cameras for an uncanny likeness to Grealish, though perhaps without the same striking good looks.
He sported a similar hairstyle, hairband and all, while fans all cracked the same joke.
“When you order Jack Grealish from Wish,” one fan said on Twitter.
Another wrote: “Anyone see that BTEC Jack Grealish?”
A third said: “Poundland Grealish.”

City were already in party mode before they faced Chelsea, who seemed to roll over at the Etihad on their big day.
Julian Alvarez gave them the win in a 1-0 victory which saw Pep Guardiola make nine changes.
Fringe players including Kalvin Phillips and Sergio Gomez were given a rare runout while Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Grealish sat on the bench.
It is their third Premier League title in a row and their fifth in six years as they continued their dominance over the division.
City made light work of Chelsea
And with further prizes on offer this season, it could be an all-time great campaign for City.
They face Manchester United in the FA Cup final and Inter Milan in the Champions League final and are heavy favourites to clinch both.
