‘Idiot’ – Jamie O’Hara walks out of talkSPORT studio over funny Martin Odegaard vs Kevin De Bruyne debate

Jamie O’Hara got up and left the talkSPORT studio following a funny debate with Sports Bar co-host Jason Cundy about Martin Odegaard.

The Arsenal captain has been in electric form, scoring ten goals and recording seven assists as the beating heart of Mikel Arteta’s Premier League table-toppers.

But O’Hara is adamant that De Bruyne is still a better player

‘O’Hara couldn’t believe what Cundy was saying to him, leaving him with his head in his hands

A player who has set the benchmark as a creative midfielder in recent years is Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and it was a comparison between the two stars that led to a friendly debate between Cundy and O’Hara.

Responding to a caller on The Sports Bar, Cundy said: “I’m just repeating what Darren said, Odegaard is the best number 10 in the league right now. I agree with him.”

O’Hara snapped back disbelievingly: “You agree with him? So if I give you a game tomorrow and you can have Odegaard or Kevin De Bruyne in your team to play in a cup final, who would you pick?”

Cundy replied Odegaard was his man and was sure he knew the reason for O’Hara’s growing irritation. “It’s because he’s Arsenal, isn’t it? You’re bitter about Spurs at the minute. What’s going on?”

O’Hara replied: “I’ll tell you what’s going on. I sit here for 18 months, having to work with this absolute idiot of a man who puts Odegaard in front of Kevin De Bruyne. Have you just watched Kevin De Bruyne play [against RB Leipzig]? He put on a masterclass!

“You’re telling me that if there was a cup final tomorrow you wouldn’t want Kevin De Bruyne in your team? You’d take Odegaard?

By the end, O’Hara had had enough and decided he needed to leave the studio – but it was all good natured

He left Cundy on his own as he went for a coffee and a cool down

“Don’t get me wrong, he’s had a great season, but Kevin De Bruyne has be unbelievable for the last five season.”

Asked who he’d pick based on performances this season, Cundy said: “Odegaard. Jamie, face the music. Stand up, stand up now and say ‘my name is Jamie O’Hara, I’m a Spurs fan and Arsenal will win the title.”

By this point, O’Hara was trying not to laugh and put his head in hands and said: “Oh Jason, Jason. It’s like working with a brick wall!

“Honestly, I can’t deal with this anymore. I need a coffee. I need to leave the office.”

Cundy was left with a look of disbelief, telling the nation: “He’s walked out!”

It was all good fun and talkSPORT can confirm they are still pals and will be back on the air from 10pm.
