KENYA: LIVE BLOG: Kindiki Deploys Nairobi Police Officers Ahead of Azimio Mass Action

The third day of Azimio la Umoja’s mass demonstrations kicked off on Thursday, March 30, as the opposition side sought to petition the Kenya Kwanza administration over the high cost of living affecting Kenyan citizens.

Under instructions by Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, the heavy security detail was deployed at strategic points along the Central Business District (CBD) as well as areas where demonstrations occurred the previous week.

In addition, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja banned demonstrations within the CBD, adding that Nairobi residents had paid the price in the past two demonstrations.
