KENYA: Murder Suspect Leaves Courtroom in Stitches After Requesting KSh 1.8m to Get Witnesses

Kasolo’s sentiments come after the trial judge ruled that Kasolo and his co-accused have a case to answer and therefore, ought to prepare their defence and summon witnesses, Daily Monitor records.

During an earlier hearing, a witness told the court that the social worker was killed because the suspects believed that she always moved around with lots of cash.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Winfred Nakatudde disclosed that during statement recording, Kasolo intimated that he got the idea from fellow inmates at Luzira prison while he was on remand on another case.

Plan was not to kill victimsShe added that the accused admitted to being approached by two fellow inmates who wanted him to execute “a small job.”

“They told me that there is a woman who drives a Toyota Spacio, white in colour and provided more details about the car and her area of residence and that she moves with a lot of money,” read part of the statement.The damning statement further reveals that Kasolo’s intention was not to kill the two victims, but it happened after they recognised him and he feared he would be reported to the police.

They, therefore, got rid of them before looking for a bushy place to dump the bodies.

Kasolo accused police of coercionIn March this year, Kasolo told the court that he was coerced to confess to the murder after a police officer put a pistol in his mouth and cocked it.

According to NTV Uganda, his sentiments were dismissed by the judge who argued that the accused was unable to prove his torture claim.
