Mae Muller addresses UK’s disappointing Eurovision result

Mae Muller, the UK’s representative at this year’s Eurovision, faced disappointment after finishing second-from-bottom in the Song Contest’s final held on Saturday. The singer performed her song “I Wrote A Song” on stage in Liverpool but could only manage 24 points, finishing 25th. Germany was the only country to finish below the UK, with 18 points. After the results were announced, Mae appeared visibly disappointed.

In a tweet later, she thanked everyone for their support and the efforts put in the last few months before the show. Although not the result she hoped for, she was proud of everyone and happy with what they achieved during the journey. Mae also posted an Instagram message expressing her gratitude for the energy shown during the event and looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Meanwhile, Sweden’s Loreen made Eurovision history by becoming the second act ever to win the contest twice, securing 583 points on the leaderboard with her song “Tattoo”. However, Mae won support on Twitter after the results, and her song “I Wrote A Song” is on course to feature in the top 10 of this week’s Official Singles Chart. Before being selected as the UK’s representative for Eurovision, Mae, a London-born singer-songwriter, was an established figure on the UK music scene and supported Little Mix during their LM5 arena tour.
