Peter Mbah has been sworn in as the Governor of Enugu State.
The Chief Judge of the State, Raymond Ozoemena, administered the oath of office to Mbah on Monday at Enugu’s Michael Okpara Square.
Mbah’s deputy governor, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai also took the oath of office.
The former governor of the state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, was present at the inauguration ceremony, alongside his former deputy, Cecelia Ezeilo.
Some of the dignitaries at the event included former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, former governor, Sullivan Chime; Senator Chukwuka Utazi, Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Edward Ubosi; and others.
Mbah of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won the state governorship election in 2023 with 160,895 votes, defeating the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, who received 157,552 votes.
