Without doubt, the forthcoming administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to be an administration poised for the long awaited national growth and development in all facets of the Nation. For many obvious reasons, Nigerians need highly nationalistic and selfless leaders to pilot the affairs of the National Assembly and work collaboratively with the executive to facilitate the quick recovery, redemption and generally propel the nation towards the desired eldorado.
Frankly put, taking into consideration the prevailing general situation in the nation today, the incoming administration cannot afford not to hit the ground running from day one. Indeed, one of the major components that would facilitate the desired effectiveness of the incoming administration is the existence of a pragmatic legislative leadership with an undiluted nationalist disposition and orientation. This is where Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole becomes strategically pivotal in the 10th Senate and Nigerian democratic experience.
Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is essentially the desired personality that understands totally the exigency of the current time and trend and could work accordingly within the existing framework of the Nigerian legislative system in fruition with the executive to put the nation on the path of the much desired growth and development.
Unarguably, Comrade Oshiomhole has demonstrated enough competence, capacity and commitment in this nation and he has always delivered excellently on all assigned national roles even at critical times. His patriotism, selflessness, nationalistic and masses oriented disposition have remained uniquely unparalleled.
He has traversed different strata of the nation ranging from the Labour movement where he rose from being just a member, to the highest echelon of the labour movement as the President of the NLC. His achievements and people oriented accomplishments accorded him some descriptive appellations such as; ‘The President of the Masses’, ‘The People’s President’, ‘Man of the People’ etc.
His reign in Edo State as the Governor of the state from 2008 to 2016 has remained remarkably unmatchable. Hence, no one was surprised when after his tenure as Edo State Governor, he was promptly prevailed upon and drafted to help stabilize and reposition APC in preparation for the 2019 general election. As the National Chairman of APC, he did more than expected by instilling discipline in the party as well as mobilizing the party and Nigerians towards the 2019 election.
It is therefore a Clarion Call on the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to support Comrade Adams Oshiomhole at the Nigerian Senate upon the next proclamation to become the Senate President of the Nigerian 10th Senate. Also, all the Distinguished Senators-Elect including all the Returning Senators should, in the interest of national progress and development receive and accept the Senate Presidency of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, as he is a nationalistic unifier, an exemplary team player, a consummate team player, a selfless result-oriented leader and a pragmatic social mobilizer.
