Key Facts

On Friday, Foxx’s daughter Corinne Foxx made an Instagram story stating the actor has been out of the hospital for weeks recovering— he’s doing so well, she said, he had been out playing pickle ball a day earlier.

Corinne Foxx also insinuated an “exciting announcement” coming soon.

Details about Foxx’s health have been scarce since he was hospitalized in Atlanta on April 11 due to a “medical condition.”

Foxx’s Netflix movie Back in Action canceled days of filming and reconfigured its production schedule following the incident, according to People.

The silence broke briefly on May 3, when a post on Foxx’s Instagram account conveyed Foxx’s gratitude: “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” and received an overflow of support from fans and celebrities.

What We Know
On April 12, Foxx’s 29-year-old daughter Corinne Foxx issued a since-deleted Instagram post saying that the actor had experienced a medical complication the day before, but “due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” according to People. On May 9, Corinne Fox shared an Instagram post featuring an Intel ad showing her with her dad with the caption: “First he’s learning how to sync his phone with his #IntelEvo laptop, next thing you know he’ll be editing photos all by himself. Baby steps, @iamjamiefoxx. Baby steps. #ProudDaughter.” Jamie Foxx was working on the film Back in Action days prior to the incident, but People confirmed it didn’t happen on set, and also reported he wasn’t transported to the hospital by an emergency vehicle.

What We Don’t Know
The actor’s medical condition. Conflicting—and unreliable—reports about his status have surfaced. A typical report, this from Radar, claims, “His friends and family are hoping for the best—but preparing for the worst!” but are short on any real details.
