Health and stamina aren’t the only resources you need to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This time around, Link also has batteries, which power all electronic Zonai devices. Batteries act like digital stamina, as having more means that Link can operate a vehicle or mechanical device longer. By the end of his adventure, Link can get eight Zonai batteries, each with three segments.
To do so, though, you’ll have to do a lot of mining. Batteries can only be upgraded with a specific resource, which itself is obtained through another resource. The ecosystem can be a little confusing to get at first, but we’re here to demystify it. Here’s everything you need to know to upgrade your Zonai battery fast.
How to get Crystallized Charges
To start upgrading batteries, you’ll first need to collect Crystallized Charges. That’s a currency exclusively found in the underground area, though it can be obtained in a few ways. The main way you’re going to get Charges is by collecting Zonaite and trading it with Forge Construct vendors. Zonaite can be collected by smashing rocks in the underground and by defeating certain enemies. There’s no shortage of it scattered around, so make sure to smash every rock you see and stock up.
There are a couple of vendors you can warp to from there. My personal go-to is one south on the map directly next to the Great Abandoned Central Mine warp point.
You can buy two different types of charges here. A single Crystallized Charge costs three chunks of Zonaite. However, you can also buy a Large Crystallized Charge for three pieces of Large Zonaite, a rarer resource you’ll find when mining rocks. Larger Charges are worth 20, which will help speed up the upgrade process immensely. Vendors only carry a certain amount of Charges, but they restock often, so don’t worry about finding a second shop.
In addition to that, you’ll occasionally find charges in chests or get them as rewards for certain quests in the underground. If you want to rack up a lot fast, you’ll want to focus on the Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan side adventure. It’s a multi-step quest that’ll reward you multiple items worth 100 charges. Also make sure to loot chests in Yiga clan bases, which tend to contain Large Crystallized Charges.
How and where to upgrade Zonai battery
Once you have a good heaping of charges, you’ll need to go to the Crystal Refinery on Great Sky Island. Warp to the Nachoyah Shrine and that’ll put you right in front of the Construct manning the battery station.
For every 100 charges you have, the Construct will produce an Energy Well. That adds another segment to your battery. The Construct will also produce multiple Energy Wells at once, so you don’t have to make trades one at a time as you do for health and stamina.
Since you start with a full battery, you’ll need to upgrade it around 20 times to get eight full batteries. If you focus on that task, it can go by quickly (you’ll have plenty of other ways to spend your time). Just hunt for mining spots filled with rocks and leave no stone unturned. You’ll be flying for miles before you have to worry about running out of power.

10 minutes of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay is coming. Here’s how to watch it
After years of trailers that only tease bits and pieces of what we can expect from the next mainline Zelda game, Nintendo has announced a 10-minute deep dive into The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom hosted by Eiji Aonuma. As this gameplay presentation will likely feature the most info we’ve gotten about Tears of the Kingdom since its 2019 announcement, Nintendo fans will want to tune in. If you haven’t heard of this new gameplay video before or are just wondering when and where you should tune into it, we’ve rounded up all of that info here for you.
When is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s gameplay presentation?
This gameplay showcase for Tears of the Kingdom will be released at 7 a.m. PT on March 28. The presentation will last “roughly 10 minutes,” according to Nintendo, and it should be available to watch for free afterward.

This deep dive into Tears of the Kingdom gameplay will be released on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel. We’ll embed the video below once it is live. Of course, you can also expect an article highlighting any of the big reveals during the gameplay presentation here on Digital Trends.
What to expect
Nintendo will release 10 minutes of Tears of the Kingdom gameplay in a presentation hosted and narrated by Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda series. While the game was announced over three-and-a-half years ago and has received several trailers, we still don’t quite know how its moment-to-moment gameplay works and just how much it differs from Breath of the Wild.

As such, it seems like the main purpose of this presentation is to give players a clear idea of what to expect from Tears of the Kingdom ahead of its May 12 release on Nintendo Switch. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the floating islands in the sky that players can explore and the vehicles we saw Link controlling in the game’s last trailer. Regardless, this gameplay showcase is shaping up to be quite revealing and exciting.
Though the announcement only mentions gameplay, there’s always a chance we see some special edition hardware revealed at this too. A special Switch OLED model or Joy-cons designed around the game seem likely and we could see something like that here.

Fortnite Nitro Drifter locations

This colorful street racing car can be found in multiple spots around the map, but it’s most plentiful in and around Mega City — which unfortunately isn’t one of the best places to land in Fortnite, due to it being a hotspot. If you don’t want to deal with all of the competition you’re certain to face in downtown Mega City, your best bet for finding plenty of Nitro Drifters is by landing at the racetrack to the north of the city.

You can still get a Thunder Shotgun in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. Here’s how
Fortnite has received plenty of exciting new weapons in Chapter 4 Season 2, and in typical fashion, Epic has also vaulted some of last season’s weapons to clean up the loot pool. Among the weapons vaulted for Season 2 is the Thunder Shotgun — but weirdly, it can still be obtained, as it appears Epic possibly overlooked one NPC who drops it.
Anyone who wants to score the Thunder Shotgun in Season 2 can head over to Frenzy Fields and look for the NPC named Sunflower who walks around the farm. Simply eliminate her and pick up the weapon she drops. It’s unclear if this is actually something Epic missed, or if the team just simply didn’t want to bother changing up Sunflower’s loot drops. Either way, it’s currently the only way to obtain the Thunder Shotgun.
